Students can use spreadsheets for survey results, science labs, and even record keeping in many subject areas. Discover how to scaffold the use of Google Sheets to help your students understand the basics of spreadsheets, manipulate data, and eventually build their own spreadsheets based on their personalized instructional needs. Using “Diminishing Support Sheets” can give elementary and secondary students confidence while starting to use Google Sheets, advancing their knowledge, or collaborating with others. Session will include a conceptual explanation of “Diminishing Support Sheets” and examples. Make sure to bring your computer to explore examples, share your thoughts, and possibly begin developing your own “Diminishing Support Sheets”. (Disclaimer: these concepts can also be done in Excel, but the main focus of this session will be Google Sheets.)
