The role of a Director of Technology in public education continues to change. In the past, CTOs spent their days worrying about server uptime, network throughput, and ticket counts. Modern education technology leaders must focus their attention on more than just the infrastructure. Data privacy and security, 1:1 computing, public relations, data reporting, and oh yeah, anything that plugs into the wall seems to fall under the IT umbrella. Are you up to the challenge?

The CETL certification is an excellent way to validate your skill set as it relates to modern edtech leadership. The certification is based on the Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO developed by COSN. The CETL exam covers the 10 specific skill areas which outline the responsibilities and knowledge needed to be a viable educational technology leader. Attendees of this session can expect to learn about the CETL and how to obtain the certification from one of only ten current CETLs in Ohio. This is a fantastic session for both veterans of the industry as well as rising stars.
